Well, this has to be the coolest story on the extravaganza thus far! It was last night at about 11:30 and i was going downstairs. Now, let me attempt to paint the picture in your head of what our stairs are like. First of all they are marble and the top half of the staircase has walls on either side of me and then there are 2 triangular steps because the staircase turns 90 degrees and then there is only wall on the right side and no railing or anything on the left. on the 2 triangle steps there were 2 large green glass vases which both sit in the corner where theres nothing but a 4ish foot drop behind them. Ok, so I was going down the stairs and I made it to the triangle steps and stepped on the narrower end and it was too narrow for my foot, so it slipped down and i lost ballance and fell not only off the edge of the stairs but took the glass vases with me and landed on the back of my head on the ground 4 feet below. I heard glass falling for what seemed like FOREVER and literally within seconds I was lying in a pool of my own blood, and the entire top half of my white shirt was DRENCHED in blood. So the vases against the hard marble was incredibly loud and so everyone in the house came running to see what had happened. poor Alba was the most scared, she started hyperventilating at the sight of all of the blood. Peter was the first one down there and then Maria stuck a towel over the gash in my forehead. i started to stand up and peter told me to stay where i was and he picked me up and carried me out of the glass so i wouldnt get a ton of glass in my feet. we cleaned off as much of the glass as we could and changed out of my bloody shirt and me, Maria, Sami and Peter went to the hospital. The doctor cleaned up more of the blood and sent us to a bigger hospital. Peter was the super hero of the night because they werent going to allow anyone to go with me but maria was worried about how much spanish i would be able to comprehend so they allowed him to go in with me. They gave me one stitch in my forehead where the glass had cut me, and 2 staples in the back of my head where i had hit the ground. my shin had a whole in it from a marble shelf against the wall that also came down on me. it was little but it was really deep, but for that they just put some tape over it to get it to stop bleeding. it was about 2 in the morning when we got home and maria said she would clean up the glass in the morning. she swept it into a pile including blood and left it there for the next day. so the next morning we got a picture, unfortunately its the only on i have from the catastrophe

so here is the pile of the glass and blood and the marble shelf broken in half. that is the little area in which i fell and the picture was taken from the stairs right where they turn and have no railing!
